Dr. Manmeet Gill is a distinguished academic and seasoned microbiologist, currently serving as a Professor of Microbiology at SGRDUHS, Amritsar. In her pivotal role as the in-charge of the Bacteriology Lab, she oversees its operations, ensuring high standards in diagnostics and research. Dr. Gill earned her M.B.B.S. from SRTR Medical College, Ambajogai, Maharashtra, followed by an M.D. in Microbiology from SGRDUHS. Her commitment to academic excellence is reflected in her continuous professional development, having completed the Revised Basic Workshop and ATCOM module training at CMC Ludhiana, and the Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME) in 2016. She is also a CMCL FAIMER Fellow, recognized for her leadership in medical education.
Dr. Gill’s academic achievements have earned her several accolades, including the prestigious Best Poster Award at the NCPE 2018 conference, hosted by SGRD. She actively contributes to institutional governance as a nominated member of the UNESCO Bioethics (Haifa) Steering Committee at SGRDUHS. Dr. Gill plays an essential role in various key institutional committees, including the Curriculum Committee, Medical Education Unit, and Thesis Screening Committee. Additionally, she serves as the Nodal Officer for the MSc Microbiology program, further enhancing academic offerings at the university.
Dr. Gill’s research expertise is demonstrated through her numerous publications in leading national and international journals. She is particularly passionate about advancing Quality Assurance in microbiology. To this end, she has undergone extensive training in Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Internal Auditing for Medical Labs (2014) and is certified as an Internal Counselor for NABH Standards (2016).
