Dr. Namrata Chhabra is a highly accomplished academic leader with over 39 years of expertise in biochemistry, medical education, and research. She holds a Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry from S.G.R.D. Institute of Research and Medical Sciences, India (2023), an M.Phil. in Health Professions Education from Stellenbosch University, South Africa (2020), an M.D. in Medical Biochemistry from Government Medical College & Hospital, Amritsar, India (2002), and an M.B.B.S. from the same institution (1984). Dr. Chhabra is also a certified CMCL FAIMER Fellow (2016), demonstrating her commitment to advancing medical education globally.
Currently, Dr. Chhabra serves as the Associate Dean of Admissions, Chair of the Admissions Committee, and Professor of Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Genetics at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. In these roles, she has been instrumental in optimizing admissions strategies, curriculum innovation, and faculty mentorship. Her previous leadership positions include Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at A.U.A. and Executive Dean at S.S.R. Medical College in Mauritius. She also chaired the Department of Biochemistry at S.S.R. Medical College, leading efforts in curriculum development, faculty training, and research enhancement.
Before entering academia, Dr. Chhabra worked as a clinician for 13 years with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Iran, and in public health roles with the Directorate of Health Services and the Directorate of Research and Medical Education in Punjab, India.
